Welcome!!!

In life I believe we are made by our creator to be artistic, expressive and visionary, to stretch ourselves and be resourceful. I put together this blog as a way to keep track of new things I try because of the inspiration that I have found on Pinterest. I'm excited to share these things with you!

Brush Cleaning 101 So this is all new to me... Which is probably a bad thing!

So this is all new to me... Which is probably a bad thing!

Last year about this time I started using Powdered foundation (which I LOVE) prior to this I was using liquid which I would rub on with my finger and the top powder came with a sponge which I would use everyday, thus not using a makeup brush for much besides eye shadow. So for about 9 months I have been using makeup brushes and again love how my makeup looks way more natural and not clumpy this I know has to do with the brand of makeup but I also think it's party the way the brushes apply it. For about a week or so i have noticed my brushes being dirty. I had remembered that I had pinned something about cleaning brushes!  So on this lovely Sunday afternoon while the hubby got in some Call of Duty time I got out my brushes and followed the steps bellow : )

So there are so many complicated ways out there. I guess my concern was that I didn't know what product to use or if I would hurt my brushes by bending the brushes or squeezing them out. Little did I know that you didn't need all that! All I used was my favorite baby shampoo  and a small glass bowl.

Step ONE: put a little drop of soap in the bowl and add a tiny bit of warm water.
Step TWO: Gently swish the brush around in your mixture. Try not to smash the brussels or bend more than you would while applying in daily use. Just go in circles until you see the water change colors and get icky! Repeat step 1 and 2 once more.
Step THREE: Rinse the dirty water out and then refill the bowl this time with just water. You don't need much just about half an inch or so. Try to keep the top of the handle away from being to wet to prevent wear on the glue that holds your brush. Continue to rinse in this way two or three additional time or until the water stays clear as pictured bellow.

Step FOUR: Don't forget the handles there is a bunch of makeup on those and yes you do touch them everyday!

Step FIVE: Bend the edge of a towel over and lay brushes leaning down again to prevent water getting into the handle. Re-shaping brushes as needed.

Let dry for several hours and they should be as good as new!  It would probably be good to do this every one to two months. We shall see how that goes, it was easy.

And I quote "I could get used to this" ~My Hubby

I had never heard of this before about a month ago!  Pretty fun stuff! Here's some facts that I have learned tonight about Spaghetti Squash.

1.) It contains about 40 calories per cup where the noodles I usually use contain about 200
2.) The deeper the color, the more antioxidants it provides
3.) It might just be easier than making noodles!

Tonight was my first time to cook it I actually ended up doing this in the Microwave just because It was so quick and everything I read said it would taste the same (same texture ect.) I was so impressed at how easy this was! I am ALL FOR easy and healthy!

A Healthier Chew

My Friend Megan Introduced me to The Hungry Girl so I found her on Pinterest and now follow her healthier option recipes, this was the first I have tried, and it was worth all 272 Calories!

She (the Hungry Girl) commonly takes recipes from restaurants and popular dishes and then suggests how to make a healthy version. This one is IHOPS NewYork Cheesecake Pancakes.

It was easy, it was fun here's the finished product,

Red Lobster Garlic Biscuits... Really!

I was hesitant to even try this recipe because
One: I've heard it so many times, this is just like Red Lobster, and they weren't!
Two: Because if they were like Red Lobster I would eat way to many!

But I was excited that the only butter in this recipe was the bit I brush on the top of it!  This means it's OK that they taste Fantastic "just like Red Lobsters" AND I can eat more of them!

Here we go! You've got to make these!

1. Preheat oven to 400F. Spray cooking sheet with non-stick spray.

2. Put biscuit mix, cheese and milk in a bowl and mix well to form a sticky dough. Make balls of dough on cookie sheet.

3.Bake for 10min.

4. In a bowl, melt butter and mix with oregano and garlic salt.

5. When the timer goes off, take them out and brush with butter mixture and bake 5min at 400F and another 5-6min at 350F.

Oh this is all you need for this recipe! See how small that butter is and I didn't even use it all! Yea!

1 pack buttermilk biscuit mix 1 1/2cups
1 1/2cups shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup milk
2 tbsp butter
1/4 tbsp oregano
3/4 tsp garlic salt

They were GOOD! Really just like Red Lobsters! I don't blame you if you don't believe me just make them and find out for yourself! You won't regret it!

Cute Umbrella Baby Shower Invite

I'm throwing a baby shower! One of my friends is having a baby girl in April and I'm in charge of the shower. I had to make an invite, and fast!

After searching on Pinterest, I chose this cute, handmade invite as my inspiration.

Although, I'm not making my invites by hand...I think mine turned out pretty cute! I'm especially excited about the umbrella ampersand I drew!

Wanna copy of it?! Get it here!

Boy Cords

The "Made" website is so cool! I love looking through the patterns and pinning all of them. But I figured I should actually try to make something instead of just pinning all the time :-)

I had some of my husband's old cords that had seen better days, so I used those.

I printed off the pattern from the website and put the front on one leg of the cords and the back on the other leg. The hem is already done for you!!!

Trace with a Sharpie :-) and cut out.

Sew the inseam together.

Sew the outsides together.

Fold down the top about an inch and sew, leaving room to insert the elastic. Then sew it closed. So cute!!!
